2010 Oconee District Awards

The 2010 Oconee District Awards were presented at the Annual District Recognition Dinner held January 14, 2011 at St. Mark United Methodist Church in Seneca.

Special guests in attendance from the Blue Ridge Council were Scout Executive Mike Butler, Council Vice President for Journey to Excellence Michael Thompson, Council Commissioner Fred Hyslop, Executive Board Members Dr. and Mrs. Bill Dukes, and Council Board Member Dr. Jim Mahony and his wife Ruth. Billy Boggs served as Master of Ceremonies.

Awards presented were: Good Neighbor Award, Rodney Hollingsworth; Good Neighbor Award, Dr. Joel Kidd; Cub Scouter of the Year - Will Hiott, Pack 235; Cubmaster of the Year - Karen Rasbornik, Pack 161; Scouter of the Year - Eric Benson, Troop 235; Scoutmaster of the Year - Keith Barnes, Troop 123; Commissioner of the Year - Norm Olsen, Unit Commissioner Packs 16 & 121 and Troop 55; District Award of Merit - Mimi Kidd, Pack 201/Troop 235; and District Award of Merit - Sylvia Dukes, Executive Board Member.

The Oconee District is comprised of 50 Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Venturing Crews, Sea Scout Ships, Explorer Posts, and Learning for Life Groups serving over 1,800 youth in Oconee County and Clemson.
