
The Oconee District of the Blue Ridge Council (BRC) is one of 10 districts that provide Scouting programs to the eight counties of the Upstate. It is comprised of all of Oconee County as well as the city of Clemson.
As of early 2011, the district includes 50 Cub Scout packs, Boy Scout troops, Venturing crews, Sea Scout ships, Exploring posts and Learning for Life groups with an enrollment of over 1,700 youth. The units meet at various locations and at different times. Most units raise funds for unit functions by selling Trails End popcorn in the fall.
Over 400 volunteers provide leadership to the district units. Monthly Roundtable meetings are held to encourage and train leaders (usually on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM at St. Mark United Methodist Church in Seneca - directions).
District events that are held annually include the Adult Recognition Dinner (January), the Pinewood Derby (March or April), Cub Scout Day Camp (June), and the fall camporee (October or November).
